Kia ora koutou katoa,
It is an absolute privilege to introduce myself as the incoming Principal of Whitiora School. I am incredibly excited to join your vibrant school community and to work alongside the talented staff, dedicated Board, and, most importantly, your amazing tamariki.
I bring a long, passionate history in education, having spent the last five years serving as the Principal of Frasertown School in the beautiful Hawke's Bay.
My philosophy as an educator is grounded in fostering a deep sense of belonging, tūrangawaewae, and connection for every student and whānau. I am deeply committed to weaving Te Ao Māori into the everyday fabric of school life, ensuring our tamariki are grounded in their identity, culture, and pride as they grow into confident leaders.
On a personal note, I am moving with my husband, Charles, and our ten-year-old daughter, Daisy. Outside of the classroom, I am a keen hockey player, but most of all, I look forward to being fully immersed in my family as we start this exciting new chapter together in our new community.
I look forward to meeting you all, hearing your stories, and working together to build on Whitiora School's wonderful foundations. My door will always be open.
Ngā mihi nui,
Megan Marshall
